Ceramic

A mixture of clays that are pressed into shape and fired at high temperatures which gives the tile it’s hardness. The bisque, or body, of ceramic tile may then be glazed, or left unglazed depending on it’s intended use. Apart from its very presentable look, it is resistant to almost all of the common sources of wear endured by quality flooring. Ceramic is resistant to fire, moisture, abrasion, thermal change.

Porcelain

Porcelain tiles are ceramic tiles with a water absorption rate of less than 0.5 percent that are used to cover floors and walls. They can either be unglazed or glazed. They are generally made by the dust-pressed method of a composition that produces a dense impervious fine-grained tile.

Glass

Glass tiles are pieces of glass formed into consistent shapes. There are many different varieties available: clear, acid-etched (matte), painted-back (coloured and glossy), recycled etc. Glass is impervious making it ideal for wet or constantly submerged areas. Most popular are the smaller mosaics usually used for accents or borders within a backsplash or shower surround.

Slate

Slate tiles are often used for interior and exterior flooring or wall cladding. Tiles are installed and set on mortar and grouted along the edges. Chemical sealants are often used on tiles to improve durability and appearance, increase stain resistance, reduce efflorescence, and increase or reduce surface smoothness. Tiles are often sold gauged, meaning that the back surface is ground for ease of installation. The popularity of use of slate tiles at home, both for exterior and interior use is greatly attributed to its aesthetic value. Its distinctive surface offers a great variety of design and colour, all of which are natural. Another main feature of slate tile which makes it perfect for bathroom is its capacity to endure extreme hard wear.

Granite

Granite tile is a unique and versatile material. Granite can be used in varied locations in both residential and commercial projects. Granite tile is more popularly used in halls, lobbies and walkways. Due to a very high aesthetic appeal, granite tile is popular with flooring contractors, commercial construction buyers, and property owners alike.  For hardness and for look, granite tile is highly imitated, but never matched. Granite tile adds a professional atmosphere.  The strength and stability of granite tile is a popular choice for office buildings, particularly for foyers and hallways. A granite tile floor can add a distinguished sensibility to residences as well. Granite is characterized by a unique, high-end beauty, while serving to complement the surrounding décor as well.

Marble

Marble tiles are usually one of the most popularly used. They are not only preferred by most because of their aesthetic qualities; they also have unique properties that give benefits to potential buyers. Marble tiles are one of the most durable and versatile tiles to use. They can be used for your floors, walls and hallway columns. These tiles are easily cleaned and maintained. They are also very easy to engrave with stylish textures and designs that suit your artistic tastes.
